Sheriff’s Office welcomes Deputy Thomas

The Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office recently hired Deputy Trevor Thomas. Thomas grew up on a cattle farm in Winneshiek County and graduated from Howard-Winneshiek/Crestwood High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps as an infantry rifleman from 2006 to 2010, was deployed to Iraq and served on board the USS Nassau. Since serving in the military, Thomas worked in construction and farming until he was hired as a police officer for the Decorah Police Department in 2021. In his free time, Thomas enjoys spending time with his wife and three children as well as activities like boating, fishing, hunting and golf.
